Some Roads We Walk Alone

Solitude and walking one’s path alone may feel like a sobering thought. But I have been in a somber mood for awhile now going through one painful loss after another in my life. So actually I see this as an empowering thought, a chance to feel complete in my own opinions and choices for my life without concerning myself with the potential judgment or need to pacify anyone else by the choices in my life which should be mine, and mine alone.

Why is this a positive thought for me?

Because these moments of solitude, self discovery and realizations are when you get to shut out all the noise and you alone get to be the voice, and make the choices. THIS is what freedom and free will is about. Monitoring and developing YOURSELF! You can’t regulate someone else, nor what they do, say, or feel, only how you perceive them, perceive life and react to it all. But in your life, YOU are in control.

Free will is not about having the freedom to “do to” others, to harm others in order to service yourself in some way, although you CAN do that if you want the sometimes unseen stealth of consequences from that internal spiritual source. It is ultimately to choose the path and development for your own life’s growth. And if you choose a negative that harms others, you will feel the pain of the universe’s “feedback”. This is not religious dogma. It is simply what I have observed over the years of my existence on this planet.

The choice to accept mediocrity or excel is yours. The choice to care or to harm is yours. The choice to feel or not is yours. The choice to suffer or not is yours. Even the choice to live or die is yours. What we choose even when we are harmed BY others matters because it sculpts who we become. Likewise what we choose when WE harm others matters because it sculpts what we take with us through life and into the next realm.

And although we find many like minded loving souls to share this earth with, when we walk that final walk and enter the unknown “other world” what will we choose to take with us and continue to experience there?

Will it be all that ego or money or power over others? Will it be your soul’s memory of what you did to destroy another human being for your own benefit?

Or will it be what you created and built for humanity’s benefit, the great children you raised, the works of art you left behind or the smiles you put on the faces of those who were hurting or hungry?

All this talk that I see online, of purpose and building a legacy, makes me ask, “What will your legacy be? And how do you plan to share it?” Choose! Although there will be people along the way to help you, that discovery and decision is the path you walk alone. Your character and road chosen to travel is the path you walk alone. Not your family’s choice. YOURS! As is the final walk…..

It matters!

THIS IS SUCH A BEAUTIFUL POST. REALLY, IN THE END, WE ALL WALK ALONE. FEEL SO SAD FOR THE PEOPLE WHO COULDN’T SEE THEIR LOVED ONES BECAUSE THEY HAD COVID, AND HAD SEMI-STRANGERS HOLDING THEIR HANDS AS THEY PAST AWAY. GOD BLESS THOSE NURSES.
